Initial Focus: Demand Letter Generation
New York City, NY
About Finch
Finch is an early stage company building next-generation consumer law. We’re bringing the leverage of generative AI to the procedural tedium in fields of law that affect everyday American lives, starting with personal injury. The platform we create will make legal representation more accessible, less expensive, and simpler to understand for average people and the attorneys that serve them.
We are small but ambitious company backed by Sequoia, as well as the founders & CEOs of DoorDash, Ironclad, and Digits. We’re looking to grow our founding team with an operations lead who will uplevel our operational rigor, inform product roadmaps with strategic guidance, and thrive in high velocity and ambiguity. An ideal candidate is eager to build from zero to one and grow as an operational leader as we scale over the coming months.
What will you do?
- Manage Finch’s highest leverage output, the demand letter we produce for law firm owners at the end of the pre-litigation process. Your goal will be to drive high quality demands at scale:
- Comprehensive demands - capture every treatment, diagnosis, related verdict, and more to ensure our demands are best-in-class at communicating the value of a client’s case
- Hallucination-free - nothing is more trust-breaking than an AI hallucination. Build the playbook to ensure we maintain our 0.0% hallucination rate at scale
- Personalized - demands don’t just reflect the facts of the case, they also reflect how a law firm plans to construct their argument in litigation and trial. A great demand will feel customized for the firm they’re being sent out on behalf of.
- Scale - strategically inform (or co-build) the product roadmap to automate the busy work in demand generation and build tools to simplify human review so that we can scale our service 1000x this year
- Note: This is the hardest problem at the company right now, and the hops is you solve for quality and scale so well in the next 3-6 months that you’re better off graduating to the next hardest problem. Unfortunately, we aren’t sure what that is yet, but our commitment is that you’ll be working on the most challenging problems at the company.
- Strategically inform the product roadmap with insights gained from our operational efforts
- Build new operational offerings to help us scale to serve more case types and practice areas
- Collaborate closely with product, design, and the rest of engineering
- Work out of our NYC office in person four days a week
What skills and experience do you need?
- Strategy and operations experience in an environment with operational rigor
- Some experience building zero to one
- Grit and adaptability to thrive with an early stage team and navigate ambiguity
